i agree with your take + this is an opportunity to own the narrative:
for the last X years, competitor didn't have this feature
they added it on Y date, when we have had it for 2 years
their feature still lacks parity on a,b,c
while they were playing catch up, we built this new feature instead
maybe doesnt work in every scenario though 🙂
