Fractal speed. Come ready to build in public. Share what you’re building now, the questions you have, without waiting for the polished version. We'd rather see fast iteration than a perfect post.
Commitment to craft. This is a substantive space, not a place for needless hot takes. Bring real work, real questions, and real effort. That’s what earns attention here.
Category leadership. You’re early to something. Help set the standard for what Marketing Engineering looks like, for yourself and for everyone learning alongside you.
Opportunity, not defensiveness. Give people the benefit of the doubt. When someone asks a tough question or shares an early draft, respond like you’d want to be met: with curiosity, not judgment.
Rules
Zero tolerance for spam, abuse, libel or defamation, incitement of violence, copyright infringement, or cyberbullying of any kind. You may be removed after your first offense.
No spam or self-promotion. Only post on behalf of yourself or your organization when it directly furthers this community’s purpose: upskilling, showcasing, or celebrating Marketing Engineers.
Give context when you share. Don’t drop links or articles without explaining why they matter here. Tie it back to what we're gathered to do.
No hateful conduct, harassment, or threats. This will not be tolerated in any form.
Feedback over ranting. Critical feedback, including about the product, is welcome. We ask that it come with a point. Posts that are pure venting, with no actionable takeaway, may be removed.
Protect each other’s privacy. Don't share personal information about yourself or other members, such as an address or phone number, in ways that put anyone at risk.
Respect the competitive reality of this space. Some of you work for competing companies. You’re free to share what you're building and what you’ve learned, but be thoughtful about how much of your specific playbook or identifying details you post. Use your judgment, and don't ask others to reveal more than they're comfortable with.
Showcase generously, don’t gatekeep. This community exists so people can learn from each other’s builds. If you're posting a win, try to include enough detail that someone else can learn from it too.
This space is semi-public. Most channels here are publicly viewable even to non-members; don't post anything you'd consider strictly confidential.
If you personally feel unsafe or witness a violation of these guidelines, reach out to @Eleanor Hooker directly and forward the message or thread, and/or take a screenshot. We'll address your concern confidentially and take appropriate action to preserve the integrity of this community. We reserve the right to remove members whose actions violate these guidelines.
